Santa Cruz started his career at Olimpia Asuncion before moving to Bayern Munich, where he scored 31 goals in 155 games. In the summer of 2007 he moved to Blackburn Rovers for £3.5M, since then he has gone on to become Blackburn's most important striker. He is definitely your most important striker on FIFA 09 should you choose to manage Blackburn, he is great in the air and has an excellent finishing ability.

In the summer of 2009, he moved to Manchester City after months of speculation. The fee was around the region of £17 Million pounds.
