The Melbourne Victory are the Hyundai A-League's most successful club winning 4 major titles in 4 years. Melbourne are the only club to have won the Premiership-Championship double, a feat they have achieved twice, in the 2006/2007 and 2008/2009 seasons. They are also the only club to complete a Domestic Treble winning the A-League's Premiership, Championship and Challenge Cup (Pre Season) which they did in the 2008/2009 season.

Melbourne has a strong rivalry with Sydney FC as they are Australia's largest cities. The matches are very bitter and sometimes controversial, The Victory's biggest win against Sydney FC was 5-0 during the 05/06 season.

Adelaide United are the closest city to Melbourne geographically but the rivalry is not as heated as the one with Sydney FC, Melbourne's biggest victory over Adelaide was 6-0 in the 06/07 A-League Grand Final.
