Gareth McAuley is a Northern Irish central defender who is currently playing for and captaining Ipswich Town, after joining in the summer of 2008 from Leicester City for a fee of around £1.5 Million. He is also a regular Northern Ireland squad member. On FIFA 09 he would be Town's first choice centre back, his height being a major advantage.

In the 2008-09 season, McAuley started badly but as the season went on he became one of town's most important players playing 39 games.
