The Champions League is a cup run by UEFA. Teams from europe that finished in a certain position in each countries league are entered into it. For example in the Barclays Premier League teams that finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th are entered. There are qualifying rounds then it goes on to a group stage then knockout style.
