Archie was born in Otorohanga, New Zealand on 23rd of October 1978, and his first senior club was Bathurst, NSW before moving to Gippsland Falcons, VIC then to Carlton SC, VIC before going back to New South Wales to play at Marconi Stallions before his "big break" when he signed with Lierse S.K in Belgium before returning home to play at the new Melbourne Victory in the Hyundai A-League.
