Background

Adelaide were one of three teams that survived the defunct National Soccer League (The others being Perth Glory and Newcastle Jets). They made it to the Hyundai A-League final in the 06/07 season after defeating Newcastle Jets 4-3 on penalties, where they were demolished by the Melbourne Victory 6-0 their worst loss.
